FAITT have sophisticated facilities of Microbiology Unit, Biochemistry Unit, Water Laboratory, Training Centre, Spirulina Cultivation Unit, Biofloc System and RAS Unit. Microbiology Unit is mainly focused on various aquatic diseases and diagnostics concept. The unit involved in identifying different pathogenic microbes including bacteria, virus, fungus, parasites, protozoan, etc., that create different aquatic diseases and infections in both fish and shrimp. This analysis helps the R&D to make disease control strategies in an eco-friendly manner against the variety of microbial infections. Biochemistry Unit is mainly focused to help the aqua farmers on analysing the nutritional qualities and quantities of feed and feed ingredients. Spirulina Cultivation Unit, Bio flocSystem and RAS Unit available in the FAITT to provide training to the individuals, not only based on theory, but also the individual get hands on demonstration.

About Us

Foundation for Aquaculture Innovations and Technology Transfer (FAITT) is a non-profit private Research and Development (R&D) Centre established in 2020 at Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, India to provide a focus for aquaculture research and development throughout the country as well as all over the world. In India, in the private sector, there are many aqua labs for water quality analysis and few focusing on basic microbiology work including bacterial colony count from infected fish or shrimp; apart from these concepts, no aqua labs are functioning. When, we are listing private R&D Centre throughout the country in the private sector which is specific for aquaculture is almost nil. However, in shrimp hatchery regions, selectively potential real-time PCR labs around the east coast belt of the country for screening the healthy status of the shrimp. So overall, considering the necessity and importance in such a potential food resource sector, FAITT has been established as a private R&D to initiate and fulfil the research and development related aquaculture issues.
