Biofloc System

Biofloc system is an innovative and cost-effective technology in which the toxic materials including nitrate, nitrite and ammonia can be converted into proteinaceous diet to fish or shrimp. The technology used in the culture system with limited or zero water exchange under high stocking density, strong aeration and biota formed by biofloc; the floc production can be increase when the system is exposed under sunlight. The principle of this technique is the generation of nitrogen cycle by maintaining the amount of carbon: nitrogen ratio through stimulating heterotrophic microbial growth, which assimilates the nitrogenous waste that can be exploited by the cultured spices as a feed. The biofloc technology is not only effective in treating the waste but also grants nutrition to the aquatic animal.FAITT understands the importance of this system which functions in limited water resources, thus installed few systems in its R&D to provide hands on training to the needy.
