Raceway aquaculture system is also known as flow-through system, in which water flows continuously, making a single pass through the unit before being discharged; and the discharged water is being treated and recirculated in the system. This is one of the profitable methodsin raising aquatic organisms. This system is one among the older technology for culturing inland aquaculture organisms; it is also suitable for a variety aquaculture technology including freshwater, brackish water and marine water. Usually, the system consists of rectangular or round basins of concrete or fibre and equipped with an inlet and outlet; now-a-days, even the system established in portable tanks. The continuous water flow in the system maintains the required level of water, which allows the organisms to cultureat highdensity. At our FAITT R&D, we have RAS unit to train the interested individuals on this knowledge by providing them practical experience and enhance the aquaculture production.
